Bellagio Fountains - Las Vegas
America was incredible. I loved New York, loved Seattle, loved San Francisco. But I hated Vegas. It was cheesy and tacky, fake and indulgent. A concentration of everything terrible about human nature. In fairness, I'm not a big drinker and I'm not a gambler. I'd say if I were either of those things, Vegas would have been much more enjoyable. It is definitely worth seeing, and in many ways has to be seen to be believed and understood, but after one evening walking up and back down the strip, I didn't feel the need to see any more. I think what soured it for me was the other people there. We flew in on New Years day and it was a super busy weekend in Vegas. What bothered me was the amount of families with young children. They were everywhere. Our hotel was full of families, wandering around the casino floor at 11pm at night, buying cheeseburgers for their 6 year olds. I can't think of a worse place to go for a family holiday. If I were to go back, it would be with money to go to as many musicals and magic shows as possible. Otherwise, there's not a lot else there I'd like to see again.
Having said that, the Bellagio Fountains are very pretty.
